I am looking to lose weight…need help?
I am 17, I turn 18 in February. I weight about 265- 267 lbs and wanna get down to 195 - 200. I wanna get to that weight range within 2 years or so maybe 3. What would be the safest and surest way o go about this? I don’t eat veggies (runs in my family we cant stand the taste, worse than most people) But I can take Vitamins. the only foods I would eat would be turkey, chicken, wheat bread, oatmeal, chicken noodle soup, water, green tea, what can I add to the list? And fo exercise, i dont wanna buy no weight machines or any other devices, what would be the best exercises that dont require buying stuff and build muscle / burn fat? I am thinking walking, sit ups, crunches, jumping jacks, etc, and how much of them? And how many calories should I eat/drink daily? I was thinking maybe 800 - 1100, any other tips and advic would be helpful. thank you in advance and have a great day
Walking 3-4 miles a day would burn a lot of calories. start out with 1-2 miles and try to get to where you are walking at least 2 miles evey day.
3-4 miles at least once a week. Your food selection is pretty good given that you will not eat veggies. Make sure the green tea has no sugar. Don’t use mayonnaise or cheese on turkey sandwiches.

Well for calories, most people say about 1200 a day is a good diet level, and I know you said no machines, but the Ab Lounger really works. People say it doesn’t but I’ve read some reviews online, and after a few weeks, my pants were much wider around the waist. The best exercise you can do for dieting without machines is cardio workouts. Walking, running, jogging are all great. Also, swimming works every muscle and is the best. If people tell you that targeting one area just tones that area, its not true. You lose weight in the last place you put it on, so you may not notice results right away.
Good luck!

Stay away from Carbs completely. Run/walk for 30 minutes every single day….I would stick to a 1000 calorie diet. Crunches, pilates all that is fine and dandy but you gotta keep at it, and afterwhile up the workout, start walking with weights or at an incline, or up the time you work-out in a day. Cardio is the best form of weightloss along with eating healthy. Google healthy foods and amounts.

very doable in 1-2 years but you really need to do your own research. You need to eat fruit and veggies. Beyond the fact that they taste good, they are very low in calories, exceptionally high in vitamins, cheap and full of fibre. If you don’t learn to like them you will remain overweight.
The best excerise for your current weight is walking and weight training, maybe some cycling. Again., you will eventually need to either purchase some equipment or join a gym to accomplish the weight training.
You should start with at least 1500 cals a day. Any less and your bady will think you’re starving it and you will be very hungry. Use google and you find some diet advice. Try the weight watchers site - very good and safe info. http://www.weightwatchers.ca
Good luck.

Hi, I am eighteen as well and weigh around 240, so I know what you are going through. My opinion is join a gym that has classes. They are so much fun and I use to go to a gym that didn’t have classes, and I would never go because I would get bored of doing the same thing. Also, it helps if you have a workout buddy with you. You can motivate each other to go to the gym. It also helps to keep a food journal, write down what you eat, how hungry you were, your emotions and how you feel afterward. For calories, you should be consuming around 1,500 calories a day. No soda, no fast-food and drink plenty of water. Just remember you’re not going on a diet, you are changing your lifestyle cause diets usually don’t work.

Honestly, the best thing for you to do would be to see a dietician. I lost a lot of weight and that’s what helped me. You need to keep a food log for about a week and be really honest with it. Your dietician (or even a regular nurse) would be able to look at that and give you a meal plan that’s custom to you. Do you drink sodas or anything else but water? If so, that should be the first thing to cancel. You’ll see a huge difference just doing that. Don’t go out and buy anything except a couple of dumb bells. Right now, I would focus totally on your diet. Changing your diet is about eighty percent of it. Also, for your current weight, 800-1100 calories is too big of a difference for starting off. It would be a big shock and you would most-likely not keep up with a change like that. Good luck!
