What are good sources of protein in average food?

Also, is there a way I can drink protein shakes that will give me my protein (and possibly more, because more is better right?), without gaining a whole lot of weight? If they do have alot of calories, is there any way I can burn them off?

I am 15 and I am very interested in body building, I am not doing it for looks or to become attractive, I want to do it to compete against myself. Thanks.

  2. you can find lower calorie protein shakes, at stores like GNC. i really like "designer whey" french vanilla, i mix it with cold water and frozen blueberries in a blender. one scoop is only 90 calories i think.

  3. red meat is like one of the biggest protein foods, nuts, meat in generall, some vegetables.
the only way to stop the weight gain from shakes is to exercise and dont drink to many. your body needs protein but too much can become toxic.

  4. Anything that’s made of soy is rich in protein. Fish is also high in protein and would not tip the scale when it comes to calories.
I’m not so much of a protein shake fan. And since you’re only 15, I personally think it’s better to get your proteins from natural sources =)
    Good luck!

  5. Some good sources of protein are:
    Protien shakes (like you said)
    cottage cheese
fish (brioled or backed not fried)
    tuna fish
    egg whites

If your loading on protiens you may need to take a good multi-vitamin suplament. Hope this helps you out!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Good source of protein would be nuts, soymilk, milk, chicken, meat, fish, etc.

If you eat healthy, you don’t need to take protein shake because you get enough protein from them. Don’t waste your money on protein shakes unless you’re a hardcore bodybuilder.

Working out is a good way to burn calories.
