I want someone to make up a workout plan for me…?

I don’t have a car or a job. I am stuck at home all the time and have all the time in the world to workout and improve myself before I get back into the world. I can’t afford to eat anything healthy other than salad at the moment. so a list of foods to eat to help the weight loss along won’t do me any good. I need workouts that will burn fat, tone and build muscle to combine with my rabbit food, jump rope and water. Thanks :) Problem areas include lower belly, arms and love handles, FYI.
I weight 138 right now, around 5′5, 5′6. i want to lose between 20 and 30 more pounds, but mainly want to tighten and tone every part of my body. help, please! i’m so bored and want to put my time being stuck here at home to good use.
ok, K…. The reason I am asking isn’t because I’m lazy, thanks. The reason I’m asking is because I want to make sure I get it right and that I’m not wasting my time. I’m far from lazy, thank you, smartass.

Better yet, take your "common sense" and choke on it! Common sense tells most people to ask and see what the situation is before putting someone down & belittling them. But, I see YOU’RE (with an apostrophe when meaning YOU ARE) an ignorant, asshat who probably has his head so shoved up his crack that you probably wouldn’t even know HOW to come up with a workout plan even if you wanted, or for that matter how to carry on a thing called a LIFE, and so you go through questions just looking for some person you think you can make your clueless little assumptions about. NOT ME! I’m not that person and i’d suggest you take your premature conclusion drawing clownass elsewhere until you think you can offer some sound advice. otherwise, just stay off my board.

Diet plan for abs? URGENT!?

I’ve got 2 weeks until i’m going on holiday with my friends, we plan on doing lots of swimming diving, beach activities etc, there will be girls going with us too so i want to get a nice ripped beach body.
So here’s the details:
i’m 6ft, 135 lbs (65kg) and already pretty strong from martial arts. but the problem is i’m a naturally lean guy and i cant seem to build muscle mass. The biggest problem i’m facing is my abs. I can feel them and they feel really ripped but they’re covered by a thin layer of fat, (maybe 1cm thick) and i just cant seem to get rid of it! I’ve been reading a lot about dieting but its so confusing-high carbs, low carbs, protiens, low fat, high fat?! Also i cant find any diet plans on the internet that will build muscle and burn fat, without excercising like crazy, btw my job occupies a lot of my time so i dont have much time to excercise, i try to get in a 30 minute session of push ups, crunches, weights every day.

So can somebody please suggest to me a diet plan, (it’d be great if i could get a list of foods that would help, when people say "eat carbs" or "eat protien" i get confused)

fish is a good source of protein, obviously not grilled, cause that oil will just add to your fat. umm beans are good too, and pasta for carbs. All vegetables especially green ones, and eggs

Diet plan for abs? URGENT!?

At your weight and height, I’d hate to see you trying to loose more pounds! It’s possible that you need more protein in your diet, since that is what muscle is made of– lean meat, fish and poultry are your best bets, soy has too much estrogen for men. You could also have a whey protein shake or smoothie everyday: you can either buy them in a can, or mix the powder yourself. Most grocery or discount stores will have both, be aware that many contain aspartame [nutra sweet], and it gives some people headaches.

Consider your ab routine: is is just crunches? Does it feel like you are really working those muscles? You may want to try some variations, like leg rises, sit ups, etc– it’s important to change up our routines frequently, otherwise our bodies adapt and stop progressing. Another option is to hold a light weight on your chest for greater resistance.

Another option is to add creatine to your daily routine. This is NOT a steroid, it’s a legal and safe supplement if used with some common sense, it’s a common form of protein found in many foods. It works to build muscle two ways, first by providing a stronger ‘pump’ during your workout, and then by helping the muscle repair itself faster after a session. Most people reccomend mixing up your daily intake, consuming half 20 minutes before you workout for the pump effect, the rest during your workout instead of plain hydration.

Honestly though: at your weight and height, I’m betting you look just fine in your swimsuit– just relax and enjoy your summer!

diet question - please help……?

I read somewhere that to get a muscly, toned body, you had to spend some time building up muscle (and putting on a bit of fat). Then you simply burnt off the excess body fat. I have done part 1, but cannot get my body fat below 15%. I am very active and am sure that the problem is my diet - i still tend to eat lots! Can anyone give me a list of foods that i should eat more of? How many cals should i consume a day? Do i need to avoid carbs? Finally, i often find myself snacking. Can anyone suggest some healthy snacks that i should eat - i’m not fussy - fruits, veg, salad, anything….
Thanks so much for your advice. I feel a bit self-conscious that i’ve put on weight.

How can I lose weight quickly again? Lost 71lb, 40-50 more to go.?

I lost 71lbs so far. (55 the first three months and only 16 the last 2 and a half. It’s going slower and slower and even sometimes increases. Now, I know what everybody says; increase exercise, decrease food. Well, I keep at 1200-1250 a day (Sometimes is lower, but I try to stay away from starvation mode) and burn 750-1500 calories a day by using the rowing machine (on the tightest setting) step master, treadmill, stationary bike, some weights, I use my elliptical at home, I swim, run, walk for hours…. and the list goes on. And most of my stiff is cardio oriented so don’t say I gained muscle. (I do do some muscle oriented stuff though because having muscle increases your at rest metabolic state for burning fat..) What do I do???? I never ever have anything other than unprocessed foods such as fruits, vegetables, lean meats such as chicken breast…Salads have lemon juice for dressing with low fat cheeses (ex. goat cheese,low fat feta or laughing cow, etc) and include a form of protein, such as (carefully weighed) nuts and chicken. I never drink anything other than water. And don’t suggest I am not calculating my calories properly.. I am anal about it. Does any body have any suggestions? I’m even willing to take unorthodox suggestions such as several day fasting diet to speed up weight loss again.. I am desperate. People always assume you are doing something wrong, but what happens when you are doing everything right and it isn’t working? By rights, I should be losing 4-5 lbs a week or more and I’m just not. Sonetimes I lose nothing, sometimes I lose 2… sometimes 1… My BMI is at 30.5 ish.. I am getting so close (started at 40.9) to being not obese or overweight at all anymore. I just need the last push.
Oh, and by the way, I have 5-6 small meals a day with 8 cups of water and don’t eat a large dinner and have it before 6 or 7.
Jess: I already said I drinknothing but water.. soda isn’t even in my vocabulary.. and walking wasn’t doing it at all for me anymore so I had to go to the gyrm. I also always eat regular meals.

THIS IS WHAT I MEAN! People always ASSUME you are doing something stupid wrong. I GUARANTEE YOU that it is not something simple that is messed up here. I don;t eat any junk food or processed food or drink juice, soda or coffee. I just don’t!
ERIC: I am trying what you are saying and it has helped a little, but it doesn’t seem to help for long and the mentality of taking a day off really messes with my head. I find it very difficult. I try to vary levels but I find it hard to go above 1200. I don’t really know how to increase it that much. :( Ok, obviously the only one who read what I said is Eric.. so he gets the points.

The rest of you… what the hell? I don’t need to know how to cut calories or turn off sweet cravings… I have too low calories and never have sweets. Read the damn question before you answer.

Well, think about this. Your body always tries to reach homestasis. No matter what you do, over time your body adapts. So although you’ve made some changes in what you do, mostly you’ve still been doing more of the same. So what i’d suggest is that you get into routines with more variation. Take days off. Do more strength training and less cardio. Vary your diet, having some days be higher calorie days and some be lower. Do the same with carbohydrates particularly, have the amount vary significantly day to day. Have at least 1 cheat meal a week where you pay no attention whatsoever to the caloric content, and just eat and enjoy yourself.

Worry more about the mirror than the scale or a BMI calculator. In the picture I use here on yahoo answers, my BMI calculates to about 30…..

What is are foods to eat while trying to burn body fat and gain muscle?

I want a good diet that helps with burning stomach fat and body fat in general. I know it is a very important in losing fat a building muscle. So please give tips and lists of what to eat and how to exercise.

Running; 3 times per week

Weight lifting; 2 times per week

Food: grilled Chicken= great protein( for muscles) with little fat. cook on stove top with a little barbacue sauce or italian dressing for seasoning.
Water= Drink lots of it!

Basically; You need to burn more calories than you take in everyday, That simple! Cutting down on your portion six at each meal

#5-If I eat something healthy 100 calories what’s the difference then eating a 100 calorie doughnut? They’re both 100 calories, will I gain more weight eating a 100 calorie doughnut than eating a 100 calorie yogurt?
#6-Is it ok to have lets say a fruit bar a little on the high side of sugar?
#7-Is fat (the unsaturated/trans) good for you?
#8-If I eat 500 calories, go to the gym burn 1000 calories, go home eat a 500 calorie bowl of cereal will that turn to fat?
#9-Are there some foods that are more guaranteed to be stored as fat (that are good for you)?
#10-Can i have a list of foods good for eating that won’t be stored as fat? (I go to the gym on a regular basis, don’t eat un-healthy what so ever.) Sorry for so many questions! Just answer what you can that’ll be fine. Please number the answers :P :)

#2- Aren’t calories just made up, approximate numbers?…Depends on where you get your information.

#3-If I eat starch, won’t it all turn to fat immediately if I let it digest?…I’ve never read up on starch in particular, but my guess is no.

#4-How much time do I have before the food I eat turns to fat?….Depends on how much you eat. What is stored as fat is the excess that your body has no use for at the time it’s processed.

#5-If I eat something healthy 100 calories what’s the difference then eating a 100 calorie doughnut?They’re both 100 calories, will I gain more weight eating a 100 calorie doughnut than eating a 100 calorie yogurt?…your body will get more useful nutrition from the healthy item than the unhealthy but just based against your total calorie intake for the day, there is no significant difference. A calorie is a calorie…but your body does not use all foods you consume in the same way.

#6-Is it ok to have lets say a fruit bar a little on the high side of sugar?…If you want. Depends on what you are trying to accomplish and what your overall health is. A diabetic, for example, wouldn’t want to do that.

#7-Is fat (the unsaturated/trans) good for you?…there are healthy fats (such as found in nuts). Shoot for mono and polyunsaturated fats (not trans fats or saturated fats).

#8-If I eat 500 calories, go to the gym burn 1000 calories, go home eat a 500 calorie bowl of cereal will that turn to fat?…Even eating 1000 cals a day you are not consuming enough calories, but it will slow your metabolism and make weight gain easier because your body is starving and burning muscle tissue for fuel. It will burn fat last because it can maintain the fat easier.

#9-Are there some foods that are more guaranteed to be stored as fat (that are good for you)?…you need to stop obsessing about fat and start eating healthy and exercising regularly. Lean protein, fruits and veggies, complex (brown) carbs, healthy fats, and lots of water.

#10-Can i have a list of foods good for eating that won’t be stored as fat?…see #9 for a list of healthy foods. You can eat lettuce and it be stored as fat if you ate too much (it would just be difficult to do so). What you consume is stored as fat when you consume more than you burn in a day…whether it’s carrorts or candy bars.

Get your calorie intake up over 1200. If you are working out daily, it should be closer to 2000 (definitely no lower than 1500) or you WILL learn what it means to slow your metabolism, make weight gain easy, and possibly have to fight your weight the rest of your life. I’m 45 and stupidly starved myself as a teen also…it’s not worth it. I now have to keep my calories low all the time, and execise twice as hard as most people, just to maintain my weight….because I wrecked my metabolism over the years trying stupid low cal diets.

What kind of foods (spacifics) can help me loose wieght the fastest?

What are healthy foods to eat that build muscle or burn fat?

I started working out 9 days ago. so far my work out consist of 300 sit ups (on my slant-board), 10 mins using my iso7x bar, 5 mins using my abb roller, and 5 mins using an arm trainer(it builds the forearm). i need a list of healthy foods that either burn fat or build muscle.

Foods don’t do those things.
Sustained activity like your workout burn fat when all your other energy stores are gone. Eating a healthy balance diet with protein, not too many carbs, and lots of fresh fruit and veg is the perfect fuel to help the body build muscle in response to your workouts.
To learn all about this nutrition stuff, find a copy of the "Nutrition Almanac". It is a great book.
