Is my squat routine good enough for fat loss?

Hello.

Routine - 20 squats as fast as I can, rest 30 seconds. Repeat until I reach 300 squats. My heart rate goes up dramatically, and I sweat as hell. Also I need to breathe deeply.

Keeping that in mind, are the squat routine I preform every other day good enough for fat loss?

Why is P90X so effective for fat loss when it only has 2 cardio sessions a week?

p90x have you done it, All the routines I have done are Very high tempo with short breaks and lots of moving fast, This is totally cardio and strength workouts,

Jogging for 30 mins is cardio ya?

P90xs gets your heart going way faster then in jogging, way more sweat, way more tears, pushup variation then jump squats, backto back with more after that. definitley goes down in my books as cardio, its strength too.

Don’t listen to people that say stuff like that. Just look at the science of it and use logic.

High intensity strength workouts burn more energy than low intensity cardio.

thing is that fat is actually energy stored in your body. if you work out and not eat fatty foods you are losing fat right there. cardio is one way to lose fat but its not the only way. you can do all sorts of workouts and lose fat

What are the best What are the best toning fat loss exercises for women targeting stomach, thighs and underarm?

I know it takes at minimum 25 to 30 min of cardio a day to get anywhere. However what are the best toning / fat loss exercises for the stomach upper and lower, thighs and underarms? These are my problem areas… I can not seem to find an answer to my question. Every link wants me to buy a book, video or drug. Any one have any advice on these three areas??? That wont cost me $$$$$$$$$$

You are, to a certain degree, on the right track but the fact is without the proper nutrition, 90% of the exercise you do counts for nothing.

In order to burn fat, you must be in a caloric deficit and create the right hormonal environment for fat loss through clean dieting and proper exercise.

I can give you a few exercises to do that will help you burn some fat, but sooner or later you will hit a plateau and will stop burning fat due to a poor diet.

For stomach and thighs, you’d want to superset lower-body exercises with abdominals for example:

Bodyweight Squats - Hanging Leg Raises
Bulgarian Split Squats - Decline Crunches
Lunges - Regular Crunches

Focus on a full, controlled range of motion for the first week. Then add speed the following week, then add load the week after, as an example. Not everyone is the same so you have to find out what works best for you.

After an intense workout, finishing up with an intense bout of cardio for around 10-15 minutes would be a good start to boost that fat loss. Cardio does not work alone as it only strips you of your Lean Body Mass (LBM), and LBM is responsible for fat loss as Muscle is an active tissue.

After an intense workout, the body says, "What in the world did you just do to me? I had better hold on to this muscle or I won’t last in the gym again!" The body then finds the next thing to burn and that is fat, so cardio after workout is always best.

There is a basic formula that applies to the average population (and is actually pretty accurate).
Let’s use a 20-year-old as an easy-to-calculate example:

The formula:
220-age= MAX heart rate (220-20=200 MHR)
60%-80% of this max:
200 x .6 = 120 beats per min, 200 x .8 = 160 beats per min.
Therefore the TARGET HEART RATE range for a 20-year old, working at 60-80% (up to 85% for very fit
people) of his/her max heart rate is 120-160 beats/min.

To calculate your heart rate:

Find your pulse (on the neck or wrist) and count the number of beats for 6 seconds. Multiply that number by 10 and compare to your recommended range. Using this method will prevent you from stopping exercise for more than a few seconds. You can take your pulse after you’ve been exercising for at least 5 minutes.

For example, suppose you take your pulse and count 13 in 6 seconds. Multiply by 10 to get 130 beats/min. Now you know you’re in the right range. If you notice you are lower than the minimum, increase your speed/incline/intensity and try to count again. If you notice you are very high, decrease your intensity in some way.

What type of exercise is best for pure fat loss?

Hello everyone. I have a quick question, which I need a pretty specific reply if you don’t mind. So basically, what is the best exercise for fat loss (body fat)?
