I am starting a healthy eating diet as of today (I wish to lose weight but most importantly want to get as healthy as possible), I am going shopping for all my healthy food later and need help on what to get. Thanks!
First of all, good on you!
Make sure you make it a gradual change, or you run the risk of crashing. And make sure you have a binge day as well (don’t go all out, just indulge your cravings).
That said, salad is a great snack when you’re trying to lose weight- just stay away from dressings. So stock up on stuff like lettuce, tomato, etc. Celery is great too.
Brown rice and white potatoes are good, as are unsalted nuts. Get some fruit as well, depending on your preference. Get low-fat meat and cut out any fat that you find on it.
Unless you have unusually enormous portion sizes, try to stick to about the same amount of food you normally have in a day to start with and gradually reduce it if you need to. You don’t want to suddenly decrease your food intake, as that will cause your body to gain fat as it tries to protect itself against what it believes to be impending starvation.
