I found a great info site on abs and belly fat loss that really helped, with great workouts and diet tips. I now realize what I was doing wrong before, and in fact, what I think almost all of us have probably been doing wrong…check it out…

Tips for losing 15 pounds in a month?

Hi thereee. (:
So I would really like to lose 15 pounds by the end of this month, because right now I am slightly overweight and I just never feel happy with myself when I look at my reflection. I’m 14 years old, 5′1, and weigh 123-125 pounds (it fluctuates…but that’s been my general weight for the past few months) and I would really love to get down to 110 pounds by the end of July. My problem is that I look a lot heavier than I actually am because most of my fat/body weight is in the upper half of my body (stomach/waist/chest/back area) and I have relatively skinny/toned legs and okay arms. It’s always SO hard for me to lose fat in these areas, so any tips would be helpful (and I KNOW you burn fat all over the body, not in certain areas, but any general tips would still help.)

This is what my plan is to lose 15 pounds in the next month…is this an okay diet/exercise plan? Or will it not work?

I plan to eat lots of raw fruits (apples, pineapple, peaches, oranges, bananas) to fill myself up, cooked veggies, and eggs/chicken or turkey breasts/baked fish, and limited carbs (only 1 slice of whole grain bread/day). I plan to snack on items like yogurt, nuts, salads (no dressing or croutons!), , soups, and lots of lentils/beans. I will completely cut out all bad fats/junk foods/most unhealthy starches and have the foods above make up most of my diet for the next month. I’ll probably try to eat 800-1000 calories a day, maybe a little more on the days I exercise more. Do you think that will be okay (diet wise), or will I be eating too little and slow down my metabolism? I’m just afraid that I will eat too much and end up not losing any weight.

For exercise, I plan on biking 6-8 miles a day (strenuous biking, not leisure. usually my heart rate gets up to 160-200 bpm after each biking trip, so it will be hardcore cardio for me). I will also run 1 mile and walk 1 mile each day, and the days I have time I will go swimming for 45 min and do 10-15 laps. I also do lots of jumping jacks/situps/pushups each day (just when I get bored haha). Do you think this will be enough exercise to lose the 15 lbs, or should I add anything else in too? I’m not old enough to go to my neighborhood gym yet…so lifting weights/running on a treadmill etc isn’t a possibility for me.

Any other tips for losing the weight would be GREATLY appreciated! (like anything to tone body/speed up metabolism). Thanks (:

-eat under 1800 calories a day.
-RUN at least a mile every day.
-workout:: pilates or yoga really helps!

Does this sound like a good weight loss/fat burning plan?

No Fast Food
Only 1/2 pop a day. (Might begin at one, then slowly go to only 1/2)
No sugary desserts(ice cream, cake, candy)
Only a small 1-hand fill of chips a day.
Drink tons and tons of water.

Go to the gym everyday of the week including Saturday. Sunday swimming.
I will do 15 reps per workout station. And 15 mins on elliptical, 15 mins on bike, 15 mins on treadmill.

Does this sound effective?
no, im just saying if i WANT chips, ill only have one hand full.

It sounds good but may I suggest that you cut out the handful of chips everyday. One handful of chips EVERYDAY??!! I wouldn’t even go near anything that comes out of a package. That is 10 lbs every year that you could have lost.

I’m 15 and a little porky, I want to build a training plan to burn a small amount of fat and gain some muscle?

I am 15 years old, average strength, 170 cm tall and weigh around 62kgs. I need some help to build a training plan so i can loose a few kilos, gain some muscle and increase my strength. i don’t have much equipment, only some dumbbells. i would also like to know some foods that i can eat to help build muscle.

hey matt!!i dont think you should bother much about weight and all that at the age of 15, chill n relax. But, if ur really bothered about it then i wouldnt suggest you lift weight…i would say get involved in outdoor activities, play some sport or just go for a jog or swim..tat should keep ur weight under control.

What is a good diet for me?

ok guyz I’m 15 and weight 160 i made a bet to lose 30 pounds and get 300 dollars so i need fast fat burning things food or excersice. I do an hour on the tredmil but i dont know. so wat diets and excersice r good?

It has to be more than just your diet… First… Make sure your drinking enough water. At least half your weight in oz… So to start you would want to get at least 80 oz of WATER a day, throughout the day not all at one time. It will help you to not be so hungry as well as aid your body in proper digestion. Get exercise. You want to raise your heartbeat and sweat for at least 20 minutes a day. Twice a day would be optimal but once a day will work to start off. To make sure your working out hard enough you want to be a little out of breath so that its a little difficult to talk when you stop walking on the treadmill. If you can get out a full sentence you’re not working hard enough. This next one is VERY important… DO NOT EAT before bedtime… Give at least 4 hours between your last meal and the time you hit the sack. 5 hours if you can. I know it sounds crazy and your schedule might not allow that, but try it. You will feel so much better in the morning if you sleep on an empty stomach. You’ll have more energy in the morning and it wont be such a task to get up. Eat a big healthy breakfast instead of the late night meal. Either 1 or 2 types of WHOLE grains 2 fruits and maybe some nuts or seeds. Start to cut out the meat and dairy out of your diet. They’re filled with fats and oils… Empty calories have to go. Stay away from white sugar, white rice, white bread, white flour, and any grains that are not whole grains. Say bye to sodas and junk food. Do you really want to do this?? Make the sacrifice. Go for a walk after you eat if you can. It will help your metabolism and aid your digestion. You want your body to digest your food in the minimal amount of time possible. If you can manage it try to eat 2 meals a day. If you do eat a third meal make it very light… A few pieces of fruit and a piece of toast. Or a light vegetable soup.

what are some foods that burn belly fat?

i have sum love handles i wanna get rid of. im only 15 so i dont wanna spend a lot of money on like diets and stuff but i wanna know what simple foods can help my burn fat…specifically on my tummy area
THANKS!

There are absolutely no foods in existence that ‘burn fat’. There are certain foods that may make your digestive system work harder to digest, but there are no foods that will ’suck calories’ out of your body!

The only way to keep weight under control healthily is to do a small amount of regular exercise. You don’t have to run a marathon - just go for a fast 1 mile walk daily (as you find it easier, maybe jog/run). 30 minutes gentle exercise, 5-6 times a week is all it takes.

Ps. Its also not possible to ‘target fat loss’ - when you burn calories, your body will choose where it wants to remove fat from (usually starting at the furthest points and working inwards - i.e. hands & feet, forearms/calves, upper arms/legs, and THEN torso. The reason for this is that your body requires a certain level of fat to protect, maintain and support your internal organs and will therefore fight you for every last ounce of fat).

Will this work well to burn fat and lose weight? Are my food choices healthy enough?

Ok, so I’m 16 years old, 5′2" and 130 ish lbs (though about 10 lbs is muscle in my arms and calves). I wanna lose between 10 and 15 lbs….I’m slightly toned, and that’s all I wanna be, I don’t want a muscular body. I have a layer of fat on my stomach that’s covering some abs that I can certainly feel, and I have really fat thighs and a huge bum (39 inches!!!). I wanna get rid of all of this!!! So I know cardio is the most effective way to do this…..so this is what I do for a workout

I actually have two different routines I do, just depending on the day

First off, every weekday, 2 times a day or more I have to watch the house, so instead of sitting around, I get up and do some cardio. I usually do about 4 minutes of butt kicks, and then take a break, and then another few minutes of butt kicks and one minute of oblique twists….so usually between 6 and 10 minutes while I’m watching the house, 2 times a day, at least, it just varies.

My first actual exercise routine is 10 - 15 minutes of stair walking with 2.5 lbs ankle weights on my legs, followed by riding my exercise bike for the same amount of time that I walk on the stairs.

And the other routine is 30 - 60 minutes of DDR. A half hours burns more that 300 calories, so it’s good for toning leg muscle and burning fat and calories.

And my diet consists of cereal, oatmeal, fruits (bananas and apples mostly), green tea, water, beans, reasonable servings of peanut butter, popcorn if I need a light snack (without added butter) sometimes pastas, wheat breads and vegetables. (I don’t eat meat cause I’m a veggie)

So does this sounds effective? Do you think this’ll give me results? And how long will it take for me to see some? Will this burn fat off my huge bum?

dude its easy, squats, get a bar with some weight on it and do squats, that will get rid of the fat on your stomach and for your bum, run go running and hopefully that will get rid of some more fat, and for routine is good, keep doing that.

It all sounds good. depending how mucha nd what you ate before, eat less day by day until your stomach gets use to eating less then it wont feel hungry anymoreand will get use to the new amount of daily food intake. popcron is a great snack for when you just cant take it and need a snack…I buy the 100 cal packs they actaully have alot of popcorn in it and comes in different yummy flavors…fruit and veggies have almost no cals so eat plenty of them…stay hydrated with water. squats and lounges will help the thighs and butt

Can you have abs under fat?

I do up to 100 sit ups a day, and bike about 15 miles a week, and run one mile a week, I have some belly fat but but i am 5 foot 10 and have a normal bmi, but i do have some fat, is it possible that I have abs under fat? What are some exercises that can burn belly fat, or some foods?

yes, u have them…. im guessing u probably want to show them…. and its pretty easy, u have to get in shape… just doing sit up doesnt help, its not going to magically get rid of your belly fat… Your going to have to watch what your eating…. lean meats like chicken and turkey.. Cut off from soda or highs sugar drinks like gaterade. your probably want to increase your cardio as well…. id run a little more than a mile, like 2 or 3 every other day… then you will be able to see your abs…

Can you tell me about the biology behind burning fat, and how to effectively tone abs?

What are the foods that are best for toning? Specific exercises (other than crunches and sit-ups, of course)? I’ve also heard that working out first thing in the morning immediately burns fat - is that true? Any other things I should know? Thanks. :)

Btw, I’m 15 and have been studying a lot lately, so my tummy area is pudgy. No love handles or anything, but it’s not flat anymore.

1) Specific foods don’t automatically signal our bodies to start burning fat. However, there is a way to eat that will force our body to use our stored fat as fuel. It’s basic human metabolism. Our body prefers to use glucose as fuel. Glucose is what carbs turn into after digestion. If our body has glucose in our system it use it as fuel and not touch our stored fat. In fact our body has a preference of substrates to use as fuel: 1) alcohol 2) glucose (carbs) 3) protein (our muscles) 4) fat. As you can see our body fat is LAST on the list and this is why it’s so hard for people to lose. So we have to fool our body into using our fat as fuel. We do this by removing alcohol from our diet. Lets hope you don’t drink alcohol at 15 lol. Then we remove carbs from our diet too. Now at this point our body will then convert our stored protein (our muscles) into glucose. This is how we "lose muscle" during a diet. NOT cool. The actual scientific name to this process is "gluconeogenesis". We prevent this by feeding our body adequate proteins and fats. Protein and fats are the building blocks of muscle. If our body senses all this protein and fats it will determine that its too much trouble to covert the muscles and then go to the next substrate on the list……OUR BODY FAT! perfect! Bingo!

Specific exercises don’t burn fat. Our diet does. Certain type of cardio does. You do ab exercises to build the muscles under the fat.

Working out first thing in the morning will burn fat IF it is low intensity. Low intensity is defined as keeping our heart rate between 120-130 beats per minute. High intensity is anything above 130 beats per minute. See, if the exercise is high intensity our body uses glucose to fuel it. And if you are eating in the manner which will fool your body to use your stored fat, then there is no glucose in your system. Remember, glucose is what carbs turn into after digestion. So low intensity cardio on an empty stomach will burn fat. Not high intensity cardio or even weight lifting on an empty stomach. That too is considered high intensity.

So the foods you have to use to fool your body into using your stored fat are these:

Protein sources: eggs, tuna, chicken, steak (once per day), salmon, talapia (or any fish), shrimp, crab, turkey, whey protein powder

Fat sources: almonds, cashews, all natural peanut butter, avacado (be carefuel, they have a lot of carbs), extra virgin olive oil, fish oil capsules, evening primrose oil capsules

Carb souces: only GREEN veggies.

Hope I’ve helped you understand better.
