Tell me if this is good enough for me to lose more weight?
i am a 15 year old male and i used to weight 235-240 pounds but during summer vacation i reduced my weight to 215 and from August to now i am currently now 201 pounds….the problem is ive seen a decrease of the amount of pounds im losing….im fairly active maybe half an hour or more a day of skating, soccer, tennis, running….and i do LIGHT weight training….i still lose a pound or two in 2 wks…but my question is my diet….i eat about 2000-2200 calories..but maybe half of those calories are from high fat foods like chips and an occasional cheeseburger or quesadilla..(i love CHEESE)…do you guys think that the sudden slow down of the pounds i lose is because im not burning enough fat…or because im eating to much fatty foods…also what is the effect of high fat diest even if im not eating over the amount of calories im supposed to.
Oh ppl are asking i am also about 5′8
and one meal always consists of boiled chicken breas or some type of lean protein…beans or potatoes….and veggies….i also drink a glass full of pure veggie juice in the early morinig
broccoli,spinach,celery and other stuff.
more facts lol
about a pant size 34-36 shirt size large
also i hate my man boobs idk if its gymnecostia or if its just fat but yeah….i try to work my chest out…i look preety muscular around the arms and you can see my stomach muscles but not as clear to the extent of a six pack….and im probably as fit or fitter than most of the "skinny" kids in my P.E. class im usually the best or 2nd best at any sport except Basketball….i dont play in anysport cuz my school is college prep school MIddle COllege High that doesnt offer any sports..
your still young and should probably seek a drs advice. but my opinion is you’ve just plateaued, and thats ok, enjoy your sucess….and remember your still growing, so the weight can disperse that way too

I think you are eating too many fatty foods and calories.
Intead of eating fattening junk food or fried foods, eat lean protein like chicken. It will keep you feeling full longer and will help build muscle. Muscle burns fat.
Congrats on your hard work so far, I hope you can keep it up!

Fatty foods. Fats, especially Saturated, take a long time for the body to burn into energy, so all the carbs you eat let you live, and all that fat gets stored away because be the time it burns you dont need it anymore
ideas- as far as calories go, dont drink pop and if you ant little juice (just as much sugar). Reach for the diet instead, (at first it can be nasty, but you’ll like it eventually). IF you can dont eat any food that’s been deep fried or pan fried. Try instead to eat Non fried foods, and, if you can, chicken and seafood (really low calories/fat). When you do eat these

they are really high in it. Good luck.

the more weight you lose, the harder it is to lose more weight. keep exercising, and cut out the carbs and dairy. go with meat, fish, vegetables and lots of water. you don’t say how tall you are - that should give you an idea what you should weigh. also, muscle weighs more than fat, so if you’re building your muscles, you may want to pay more attention to how you look, more than how much you weigh.

high fat diets are bad for you period. your weight loss is leveling out because of the amount of calories you are eating, reducing to 1500-1800 should kick start your weight loss again, but a high fat diet will lead to high cholesterol and heart problem later in life, cut the fat foods like chips etc…

possible reasons as to why you slowed down in losing weight is:
1) You lost alot of weight already
2) you intake more than you burn
how do you know that what you are eating a day is 2000 - 2200. Come on, cheeseburgers and quesadillas, and you think you are only intaking that many calories.
High fatty diets can lead to high blood pressure

wow congrats!!! I’ve been trying to lose weight for about 3 years now and all I’ve lost is faith. I would say maybe eat healthier and give yourself a free day or two to eat the things you love. I thought that 1 to 2 lbs a week was good. right now I would be happy with 2 lbs a month.

Fatty foods always slow down weight loss..but you may also be losing weight slower because you weight less..
if you are really heavy you lose weight at a faster rate, but once you start becoming a normal weight and healthy eating is a normal habit for you, the weight comes off slower.

A combination of not enough exercise to burn off the amount of fat you are eating and eating too much fatty foods. Eating better would be a good road to go on. Too much fat has long lasting ill effects including obesity, diabetes, heart disease etc. Start adding more vegies and fruit to your diet and less chips and such empty calories and try 1 hour instead of 1/2 hr of exercise. It’s often harder to lose as you get closer to your goal because you have to take a quantum leap to a better life style and better nutrition to get better results.

congrats man, i was 300lbs at 17yrs old now i stay around 200lbs. if you play sports and other physical stuff, remember muscle weighs more than fat and 200lbs is pretty normal for a guy of normal height. you might have already reached your bodys ideal weight, just give yourself time to adjust when you lose alot of weight like that you might just think your heavier than you are. just keep the fast food to a minimum and stay active. enjoy your new bod.

I think you should lay off the fatty foods. If you really want to lose some weight, just don’t eat cookies or chips, and drink less pop and more water, milk, and juice. Don’t eat too much pizza either, or frozen foods like hot pockets and things like that. Also, just as long as you are active for most of the day you should be good, don’t just sit around and watch television all day, get up and walk around or something. So yeah, let us know how that goes… Hope this helped.

The workout seems fine so I would say that it is probably a mixture of 2 things. The first is if your diet has changed and you are eating more fattening foods that might be it. If your diet and your exercising have stayed the same the whole time then it might be that since you don’t have as much fat to lose you aren’t going to lose as much fat. If you put a person in excellent condition almost no fat to lose and a person with at least 50 pounds of fat to lose who is going to be able to lose the most weight? Maybe it will slow down because you are lowering the amount of fat to lose. You keep it up and you will lose it, but it might go slower now.
DON’T drink diet anything. It has aspartame in it and it is actually worse for you than sugar

I can so relate to you dude.. im 14 and weigh about that same as you so let me tell you what my nutirionist/dietion said
"The amout of calories a day you normaly eat must be split in half or to 75%. Cut down on complex carbs and start with simpel. If you eat alot of dair such as milk, cheese, or butter ( witch i do) you must buy a brand with 50 to20% less fat and 0 trans fat. Include an hour of phis acitvity an you will be fine"
i followed that and i lost big time.
basicaly what you must do is
1/2 the caliore intake
1 hour or more of phiscal activity
no complex carbs
all dairy must be 50% to 20% fat free
hope this helps ^^

Hi Noe….and congratulations on your success in becoming
a healthier you!
When people lose weight, they often do experience plateaus, or periods of time when the body slows down on weight loss.
It does not sound like you are discouraged about this, but
rather that you are seeking suggestions about what is happening and what, if anything, you can do to begin losing
weight more rapidly again.
Unfortunately, high fat (saturated fats) intake is not a healthy
way of eating. An occasional cheeseburger is not going
to make a huge difference in your overall weight loss experience, however. Though what "occasional" means
to you could be more frequently than what it means to me.
There are cheeses which are lower in fat, and still taste
good, so you may want to experiment with that option, Noe.
Chips are high in fat and salt, both of which are also not
the best deal for our bodies……
However, Noe, you are working on a lifetime plan of health
and fitness, so you are going to find a way of eating that
works for you—that gives you the variety and tastes that
you enjoy…..but does not affect your body in a negative way.
The "light" variety of chips and cheese and other "fatty"
foods you have enjoyed in the past may suit you. It is worth
having a taste test to see if any of those lower in fats will
still please your palate.
From what you have shared, you are doing a phenomenal
job of taking better care of your body, Noe. You are to be
commended for this. It is not easy, but it is so worthwhile.
You are so worth the time and attention it takes to reach
the goals you have set for yourself, and frankly, it seems that
you do know, at some level, what it is you still need to work
on (those high fat foods you love). I believe you will do it,
Noe. It may take some time and re-building new habits…..
but you are well on your way.
If you need additional help, you may want to ask your
family doctor for the name of a nutritionist, someone who
can sit with you and explain what works best for a young
man’s body.
I am so happy for you, Noe, and wish you all the success
you so deserve!
Doris

Thats really good. The problem that I see isn’t your training but your dieting. As far as your training goes, it is really good to do at least half an hour to an hour a day of exercise, burns plenty of calories. Another good way to increase fat burning is to gain more muscle, when you gain more muscle you burn a certain amount of calories more per hour for each pound of muscle you gain. You can’t fully rely on muscle to burn off fat fast because it takes much, much, much more time to burn fat from just muscle. Like when you see body builders they’re really tone because the muscle they pack on is burning off their calories like a workout. The key is that you eat less even though your body wants more food when you gain muscle. When it comes to your diet I would highly recommend that you get your calories from a different source of food, instead of what you’re eating now. The fatty sugary foods are giving you more calories with less actual food, whereas with foods like bread and fish you’re getting more actual food and the foods are holding you over till your next meal longer. What I’ve been told is to eat more than 3 meals a day but smaller sized meals, to both speed up your metabolism and to let the smaller meals be dissolved mostly by your metabolism. The actual amount of calories a 15 yr old boy is suppose to eat is about 3000, but you’re getting them from the wrong foods so its not helping your body out. If you really like cheese than try something like a pasta that has cheese, chicken or preferably fish and pasta in it and i think you’ll really like it. You can reward yourself once in awhile with a cheeseburger or something like that but if you’re really dedicated than you should try not to. As far as high fat diets go I’d suggest that you read this article. http://www.pponline.co.uk/encyc/0365.htm
My recommendation is simply this, don’t try to find the perfect miracle drug/diet to burn fat because most of them only work for a few days but eventually cause more weight to be gained after you’re off the diet or pill. The best cure is exercise, people that make pills and diet books can’t sell the simple cure of exercise and eating things that don’t clog arteries. So just go to the gym/play sports/skate/ whatever those things will help you if you don’t overdo them and hurt yourself.
